Controller

The Controller oversees the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management.  This role involves developing financial policies, managing accounting staff, and supporting strategic financial decisions.

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting or financial management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and execute financial policies and procedures.
  • Oversee accounting functions (A/P, A/R, Finance, Compliance, Report submission) ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, financial statements and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and standards.
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and monitor internal controls.
  • Support corporate financial decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate financial audits and provide recommendations for improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the USA
  • Strong knowledge of State (Kentucky) and local (Owensboro, Daviess County) regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools. (Experience with PowerEnterprise ERP is a plus.)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Financial planning and analysis.
  • Budgeting and forecasting.
  • Risk management.
  • Team leadership and management.
  • Attention to detail.
