The Owensboro Buyer is a full-time position that is responsible for preparing and processing purchase orders for inventory based on supplier lead times, forecasts, and customer demand to minimize days of inventory on hand and out of stocks. 

-Coordinates with suppliers, logistics, and warehouse members to resolve purchase order issues. 

-Proactively maintains daily inventory levels, minimizes out of stocks, offers substitute items when necessary, coordinates with sales for special order items, monitors dated product, and maintains accurate item file maintenance.

-Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products with attention to our market and customer base.

-Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers and brokers, negotiates contracts and pricing with suppliers, maintains proper costing within company standards, submits accurate invoices to accounting, communicates with sales and supplies for customer credits.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or equivalent work experience preferred. 1 year of prior experience in procurement, foodservice experience preferred.
